How to Fix Stuttering Problems

January 22nd, 2010

There are people, young and old, from all points of the earth, who are stutterers. You can usually pick these people out because they are the ones who tend to stick to themselves, preferring to stay to themselves rather than hold a conversation with anyone in the crowd. They are hermits because they haven’t learned how to fix stuttering.

Even though it is a big and difficult problem for these people, the situation is not entirely hopeless. There is a chance that they can learn how to fix stuttering. With the right amount of focus and willingness to do the work, a few learned techniques worked on diligently over a couple of months could result in a completely fluent-speaking person, one who is free of stuttering. What stuttering sufferer doesn’t dream of living a normal life, being able to talk to anyone without thinking they will just embarrass themselves? Are you a stuttering sufferer? Would you like to learn three good ways on how to fix stuttering?

Speech therapy has become a huge industry over the years. Practitioners claim they can fix stuttering through psychology and counseling. Although therapy cannot guarantee that you will fix your speech problem, there have been reports from many stutterers claiming that it does in fact work.

The downside to using speech therapy is the cost. It is a little out of reach for a lot of people, what with the many hours that you’d need to commit to the therapy sessions, and the couple of hundred dollars per hour in cost. So, if you find yourself in the lower echelon of income earners, then perhaps the second technique to learn how to fix stuttering is for you.

If speech therapy is out of your price range, you can try visualization to learn how to fix stuttering. In fact, for many people, visualization may be the only way to fix stuttering. The reason for this is because its approach is a more positive one, and this is important for those stutter sufferers sunk deep in depression over their speech impediment. The technique is hugely simple. You just visualize yourself with a stutter. In your mind, imagine yourself holding conversations with many other people, and during these conversations, you don’t have a stuttering problem. To do this properly, you might want to learn stress relieving techniques so that you can start out with a mind clear of any anxiety. Then you move on to telling yourself that you don’t have a stutter. Lastly, you imagine what it is like interacting with people while not stuttering. Basically, you fool your mind into believing you do not stutter, so that your mind can work to make it a reality.

Visualization can work but you have to have a lot of self confidence and the right guidance for it to be effective, and most stutterers don’t have any confidence so learning how to fix stuttering becomes a problem.

One of the most popular treatments for stuttering is hypnotherapy. First you need to find a therapist that has a good track record. Basically, what these therapist due is they hypnotize the stutterer and tell them not to stutter anymore. There is not too much that I can say in regards to hypnotherapy other than people around the world use this to fix stuttering. Be sure to search for a good therapist or you will spend a lot of your money for nothing.

There you have it, then. Three techniques to choose from to help you learn how to fix stuttering. Choose the technique that will fit your personality and your budget, focus on the cure, and stick with it until recovery sees you speaking fluently.

Cure a Stammer

January 21st, 2010

A stammer can affect many people, such as, adults both young and old, teenagers, toddlers, and even babies. The effect stammering has on these people is a real pain. It causes many to completely detach themselves from society because of embarrassment or out of fear of what someone might think. For the most part, stammering can simply ruin a person’s life. The good news is that there is a way to cure stammer.

Stammering can be difficult to handle, but it is not a permanent affliction. If you want to cure stammer, you can, with commitment and work. Then you can shed your personality of it and finally live the life you’ve always wanted to live. If you focus your time, energy and your mind to cure stammer, then no one can tell you that you can’t be cured.

You probably disbelieve me, and don’t feel you can cure stammer. I would feel the same way if there weren’t so many success stories, from all walks of life, of people who have cured their stammer. They found out, as you will, that to cure stammer is to reprogram your mind. Stammering is primarily psychological, and anything psychological can be fixed with a few techniques.

Only about one percent of the population has a stammering affliction. One thing about that is that you are not alone here. However, another fact is that almost none of this one percent actually does anything to move toward a cure. That’s right; almost no one will do anything to be rid of their affliction. It could be laziness, or that same fear and lack of self esteem caused by their affliction, but they would rather live with it, than work to live without it. Don’t be one of them.

There is nothing worse than falling short of a lofty goal. Too many people in the world only expend a slight effort to get what they want. When it doesn’t fall into their lap right away, they give up and live life buried in their problems. If these folks only knew how close they often get to their desired happiness. Try being a runner who trains hard for the big race, lines up with the other runners, speeds off at the sound of the starter pistol, tears around the track like a person chased by a tiger, then just stop, three feet from the finish line. They just stop. This is what it is like for most people. This is the sad truth for most people.

Therapy! Therapy being the answer doesn’t mean that you have to make an appointment with a private professional. Many speech therapist charge an astronomical amount of money per hour, with the economy being like it is may take you forever to be able to save the money to cure stammer, especially with the therapist prices.

Who’s to say that these “speech therapist” just aren’t trying to put a little extra in their pocket? They avoid the cure for stammer and go after the money. What is the point in spending hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars on a therapist, when you can cure stammer on your own!

Either you can carry on to suffer with your stammer problem, like you have been for a long time, or you can go straight to those links where I am going to reveal the cause of your stuttering problems and how you can start speaking fluently very quickly. Stammering Help

January 21st, 2010

There are many children out there who struggle with stammering. There are many things we can do to boost our child’s confidence and give them a little stammering help. Below I will go over a few things we can do to help our children who are struggling with this problem.

Children are generally hyperactive, so getting them to slow down for anything is like pulling teeth. If you can show them that slowing down, in fact helps their stammering then they will eventually slow it down. Slow your actions down and the child will soon follow.

Along with slowing down activity and not rushing into things quite so fast physically, the child needs to slow their talking down. Along with hyperactive bodies, they have hyperactive tongues, which could wreck havoc on their talking.

Teach the child you are giving stammering help to all about patience, and how having that in abundance will help him or her is able to say what they want to say. There is no hurry when it comes to eliminating their stammering tongue. Patience really is a virtue. Nothing is ever gained by rushing headlong into it and running the risk of messing it all up. True for kids as well as for adults.

Teach the child to take a moment before they speak to gather their thoughts. Doing so, they can see in their mind what they want to say, and visualize themselves saying it. Kind of like rehearsal for their speech. Take the time here to teach them basic visualization skills. Treat it similar to daydreaming, so that they understand the concept better.

Never make the words come out. This just makes it worse. The best stammering help is to remember not to rush. There is no magical buzzer going to go off. Get rid of all the things surrounding the child that might be stressing them out. Then let them speak. You may be surprised on what comes out.

Remember to give out rewards to your child for the effort they give. There is no better stammering help you can give your child than rewarding them for their actions. They will try much harder when there is a treat involved. What child doesn’t want some candy or a trip to the store for a surprise? They will work very hard in improving themselves!

Let your child know that everything is a process. The more they try and the harder they work will always pay off. It is no different than anything else in their little lives. When you continue to try and don’t give up, you will succeed at everything. This is some of the best stammering help you can give your child. Let them have fun and they will get over their stammering issue.

Either you can carry on to suffer with your stammer problem, like you have been for a long time, or you can go straight to those links where I am going to reveal the cause of your stuttering problems, and how you can start speaking fluently very quickly. How to Cure Stuttering Fast

January 18th, 2010

Your social growth can be harmed by stuttering. There are many areas it can affect in your life, from conversing with friends and family, to trying to talk with your co workers. There are huge frustrations when it comes to speech impediments. Some have reported in wanting to end their life due to the embarrassment and hurt they have received because of stuttering. One does not have to go through this if they know how to cure stuttering. In this article I will show you a few techniques you can do to work toward the cure for your stuttering.

When you learn how to cure stuttering you must apply the techniques. Learn to do what Dave Ramsey calls “gazelle intensity”, which means when you are learning how to cure stuttering then nothing else matters.

The primary thought to keep in mind as you go through this technique is that you are not under the gun. There is no time limit for getting this technique down. Take the time, get into it with that gazelle intensity, and gauge your progress. Remember, too, that you are not being forced to speak. You only need to speak when you feel ready and comfortable enough to do so.

You will need to learn to establish good, solid eye contact with whomever you are speaking with. This will bolster you with confidence. All excellent public speakers can keep their audience enthralled with good eye contact. If you are uncomfortable with getting and keeping eye contact, at first, then practice first looking at your audience’s nose, right on the bridge below the eyes. Then, gradually move your eyes up to meet their gaze, once you have enough confidence.

You need to practice speaking at the top of your breath, as this technique will fill you with confidence as you hear how powerful your voice can be. It is this confidence that will play a key role in learning how to cure stuttering. It is this confidence that will also eliminate your desire to hesitate in your speaking, which leads to stuttering.

Visualization works well here. You want to picture – no, hear – in your mind the things you want to say. Hear yourself speaking the thoughts you want to convey, what you want to get across to everyone. Practice saying these things clearly in your mind, before you begin to speak to others.

With that same gazelle intensity, you will practice attacking each word, each vowel and consonant, until you can deliver each with fire. By going over the things you want to say, in private, you will be confident enough when in front of an audience to belt out those idioms and phrases that are so important to you.

When you are ready, start to talk to people. I would suggest that, as you are learning how to cure stuttering, that you begin by speaking with family and friends. Then gradually move outward to include acquaintances and maybe coworkers. Try this technique with around four or five people every day. In no time at all, with gazelle intensity, you will be comfortable enough to speak with anyone, anytime.

Either you can continue to suffer with your stammer problem, like you have been for a long time, or you can go direct to those links where I am going to reveal the cause of your stuttering problemsand how you can start speaking fluently very quickly. How to Cure Stammering Fast

January 15th, 2010

I’m going to show you how to cure stammering. I know, you are thinking what a bold statement that is, but keep in mind that something as deep-seated as stammering in your psyche isn’t going to be removed just because I say that I am going to show you how to cure stammering. But bear with me a moment as I go on.

There are two science terms I would like to bring up to you about stammering, but after I have told you keep them in the back of your mind because this will not be a science journal. It is important that you know about them because they are both a part of the cure. These two words are called triggers and blocks. Stammering deals with blocks more than they do with triggers, while those that deal with stuttering deal more with triggers.

There are two fancy terms in the science of stammering that I am going to bring up briefly, and then we are going to put them away in the back of your mind, because this isn’t a science journal. But it is important that you know about them, because they are part of the cure. These two words are triggers and blocks. In the case of stammering, we are dealing more so with blocks than with triggers, as triggers are more related to stuttering.

What you need to do first is to grab your favorite magazine or book, whatever you may have lying around the house. Find something that will keep you interested in reading. While reading this start timing yourself for the next minute. Make sure during this minute to focus on speaking clearly and fluently, but don’t get aggravated with it and mad about reading out loud. When you have finished reading, go back and count all the words you read for a minute. This way you have a starting point or a base, so to speak. That way you can compare numbers as you move up in this exercise.

Next you need to read the same thing again. Make sure to read at a pace that doesn’t make you stammer, be comfortable. You will probably start at a slow pace, but don’t let that bother you. Also be sure to record the amount of words read for that minute. It will not matter if it is less or more than your first number. You should only focus on how fast you can read out loud, without stammering.

What you don’t want to do is get nervous or stressed out over this minute of reading aloud. Don’t obsess. When the minute is done, count the number of words you read during that time. This will give you a number that you can gauge as you progress with the exercise. This number is the number of words you read during that minute and often is referred to as the baseline.

Your next step is to read the selection again. You want to read at a pace that is comfortable, but will not invoke any real stammering. Again, don’t stress out if your reading pace is slow. Record how many words you read during that minute. Whether or not it is more or less than the number from before is not important. You just want to focus on reading at a rate of speed that will not cause you to stammer while you are reading.

This is popular amongst those that already have started the healing process or who are starting to learn how to cure stammering. There are a ton more of exercises to help with stammering.

Either you can carry on to suffer with your stammer problem, like you have been for a long time, or you can go straight to those links where I am going to reveal the cause of your stuttering problems, and how you can start speaking fluently very quickly. If you are ready to discover how to cure stammering today, then do not delay.
