Hypnotism and hypnosis was coined by the Scottish surgeon James Braid in 1841 from the word neuro-hypnotism or what is called nervous sleep. There will be observable changes in the eyes as the pupils will start to dilate and then start the object in its wavy movements, placing the object near the eyes and the eyelids will close on their own with the vibratory movement. If the eyelids don’t close the patient is then asked to move his eyeballs and he is make to understand that he is allowed to close his eyelids when the object is brought closer to his eyes but the eyeballs must be fixed in one position as it concentrates on the object;then the eyelids voluntarily close with the vibratory motion or they are spasmodically closed.
