depersonalisation is like having remote control over yourself. Horrible feeling. I have a body numbness and a sort of brain fog when it happens.

I have sudden attacks when im really stressed or really tired. The worst i is when you are driving, i got it driving through paris having driven a whole day day from the north of spain.

i have it right now too, you have to remember that is it is harmless otherwise you can panic :-(

Do you actually test your blood sugar with a glucose meter? I have and it’s not caused by low blood sugar however, eating is a comfort that can quell anxiety and lessen the effects of DPDR. That’s my findings anyway.

This describes me to a tee. I felt it the first time in the outfield during a college baseball game and described it to my girlfriend as being “outside of a reality box”, where occasionally i can jump back in for a few good minutes but then again come back out. It is impossible to connect with people with this symptom as well.

Any advice for handling my girlfriend? She is great and i’m afraid if i completely admit i have an anxiety disorder she will think i’m some kind of weirdo.

haha thats actually a really good theory the whole being adrenaline pumped constantly that makes sense and actually changes my view on my derealization i still hate this fucking feeling but thanks for making it make more sense =]

i have suffered and am suffering from deREALization, but after watching this video i know think i may have some other symptom to go along with it, sometimes i go into the state of derealization AND i literally can not feel my body, my arms being the worst of it, is this all a part of derealization or am i mistaken? one of my symptoms seems to be very physical, this video seems to discride the disorders as more psyhcological, can somebody explain please

I’ve been looking up all these videos and it about makes me cry that I finally found people that get what I’m going through. I am afraid to tell my doctor because I feel like they think I’m crazy or losing my mind. It happened to my mom after child birth but went away. It happened to me after an anxiety attack when I was high. Thank you for this video.

…However I sometimes worry that since i’m so used to feeling like this for so long that I wont be able to feel better cause i have forgotten how it was like to feel normal. I know i should probally try natural methods before medication but i’m unsure if that will work.

    PLEASE RESPOND

I’d say i have more of a derealization experience, and i have been feeling it pretty much all time since about april. Sometimes it bothers me a lot where others i can tolerate it. Since stress/anxiety causes this and then feeling derealization causes even more stress i’m wondering if I should take medication to give me that initial boost to take some stress away and then maybe i wouldnt feel it and then my stress would go down even more sort of like a chain reaction.

Hey Reptile your story sound similar. Had it from a different class of drugs. All I can say is: overcome the existential fear and you’ll be fine. In the end I found out I was feeling dipersonalized and derealized because of fear of living due to the massive panic attack. My life WAS fear. No fear, no panic, no derealization, no depersonalization = happy :)

    an interesting theory..

I agree with what you say; by trying not to dwell on it too much and staying active is working for me. I think its also a fact of accepting that this is reality and NOT the dream we percieve.. think about it, if every person was diagnosed, we would all be taking meds or devastated by the fact that we assigned names on our human characteristics and behaviour.

hi,i experienced derealisation too and i managed to recover frm it..theres no medicine and doctor can help u,beside urself..all u need to do is relax a lot, sleep well..if u dwell on it more..it will stay wit u forever..hope this works..cause it works for me.

I would really appreciate a response, and I just today found out about derealization & depersonalization. I’d like to know if my case is possibly a case of this. After my car accident I’ve had heightened anxiety and attacks, I’ve been feeling like after the accident this life, my life is a dream. I would really appreciate if you responded.

stop worrying about it and it will go away.

since you won’t trust me, I’ll explain how lol. it’s all believed to be caused by an imbalance of serotonin in the brain. so by not worrying. you stop stressing and you lower cortisol(stress hormone) levels and by being positive you stop depleting your serotonin levels. You can cure it on your own. eat serotin boosting foods(look some up) and excersice it releaves stress and puts you in a good mood.
mine was triggered by weed. and it’s gone now:)

in the end: “IF YOU UNDERSTAND YOU’RE IN A DREAM YOU’LL BEGIN TO CREATE REALITY”

  21. Furnacella says:

i think it is as you say…i suffered of derealizzation and i think is not only a psychic thing, i mean is not only a thing concerning mind…i rather think it is more a spiritual separation from God as you say…i think Derealizzation is what is called Mortal Sin…But there is an exit way i think, and one’s paradoxally already out when REALIZES that he’s suffering of Derealizzation…Because you can’t REALIZE if you’re completed annihilated.

ive suffered from deralization for a few months now caused from a panic attack. if anyone can send me some information on derealization and how to get rid of it i would really appreciate it. I really want it to go away, its getting in the way of my life. for the others suffering, i know what it feels like, be tough, and get through it.

  23. MonsterBoy8813 says:

Nobody has to suffer from anxiety,it’s as easy as taking vitamin
B’s, C and Zinc. I had severe anxiety/panic attacks simple vitamins and they are 100% gone. We don’t need all these drugs and lables…

  24. new01 says:

Past experience, psychedelics DO NOT help the situation. It will likely make the DP/DR stronger and a lot worse.
